This auction, being conducted by H.R. Harmer, the auctioneer of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s stamp collection, will bring to market a wealth of new rare and unique items. Included are many discovery pieces new to the collecting community that will broaden the range of material known in a number of significant collecting areas, but especially in the fields of the collecting of old stocks and bonds (known as Scripophily to the hobby) and also foreign banknotes. My personal experience of participating and being at the historic Christie's auctions of 1989 to 1991 will be treasured forever as a collector and researcher. The massive amounts of new material, being offered by Christie's, that had previously been unknown to the collecting community was beyond comprehension. I do not know anyone who was there for these amazing auctions regretting their purchases, and if anything, I’m sure that most buyers, including myself, regret not having purchased more at that time. Those great Christie's auctions brought to the market many previously unknown pieces, many of which are still the only known items extant. If you have been looking for that one piece to complete your collection, if you have an area of particular interest, if you are just starting out, or if you like it all, this is an auction you won’t want to miss. We therefore suggest that your collecting field may be positively impacted, as others were, after these H.R. Harmer auctions are con cluded. Extremely rare and attractive banknote.
