 Lot # 6578. THE COMMERCIAL AND AGRICULTURAL BANK. GALVESTON, TEXAS

Uncut Proof Sheet of 4.  Galveston. 18-- (ca.1840's) and 1848. Modern proprietary proof sheet of 4 notes (It was probably printed in the 1950-70's if not earlier). $10-$20-$50-$100, Haxby numbers $10, TX-6-G8; $20, TX-6-G10; $50, TX-6-G12; $100, TX-6-G12. The sheet is printed on thin white card and the back of each note has reddish-pink handstamp "Property of American Bank Note Co." on it. All notes are SENC in Haxby. Extremely rare if not unique proof sheet. The $10 note has date 1848 while the other notes are dated 18--. $10 with George Washington vignette; $20 and $50 notes have allegorical women and eagle surrounding a "Texas Star"; $100 note has 3 seated allegorical women in the middle flanked by sailing ships and a train. Printed by D&H. Extremely rare proof sheet from this popular state. This sheet is destined to be the prize of any Texas collection.

Lot # 6534. U.S. The United States of America Fourth Liberty Loan $1,000 Bond. October 24, 1918. Washington, D.C. Issued Fourth Liberty Loan. $1,000. 4 1/4% Gold Bond of 1933-1938. 2 coupons attached. Lincoln vignette. Tehee and McAdoo autographs. Brown seal. Bond serial # 1045800. VF to almost XF condition. Plate # D46 on face and D12 on back. Extremely rare bond. BEP.
 
 
It is impossible to list all of the highlights in this sale, but the foreign banknote section is exceptional and will be difficult if not impossible to repeat in the near future.  Included in this section are numerous numismatic discovery pieces from Mexico, Canada, China, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Laos, Chile, Russia and many other countries.
