Unique 1 Yuan face and back hand drawn models of an essay banknote that was rejected by the Bank of Taiwan for their 1955 issue. Drawing is on tracing paper with notations of plate or die numbers for portions of note to be engraved. Also included are front and back photo-proof essays of the note that are bank note sized. The front of the note has a portrait of SYS and the back has a drawing of the Island of Taiwan and a building above it. Production material and photo-proofs of the proposed Bank of Taiwan, 1955 issue that was rejected and never issued. Included are photo-proofs of each denomination stapled together and cut down to bank note size; a proof sheet with all 3 denominations text in Chinese; 2 small chop marks to use on the notes; a proof of the serial numbers, series and chop marks as they would appear on the completed note printed on card; the Chinese title for the Bank of Taiwan; and, the back vignette proof of a building and the map of Taiwan as used on the banknotes.
