Lot # 1760.  Buffalo, NY. U.S. City of Buffalo, CD, Depression Scrip Proofs. 1933. $50; $100 2 different proofs mounted on sample book page. One side has a $50 scrip note on the bottom with other proofs from unrelated topics. The second side has a $50 and $100 back above a $100 face. The notes have a Buffalo on the left of the face and the middle of the back. Scarce Depression scrip notes. Both are AU-Unc. SBNC.

1933. $-Unspecified. Proof depression scrip face printed on india paper with large margins. Black border, vignette and text with no undertint. Lincoln vignette on left. Uncirculated condition. Rare Delaware depression scrip. ABNC

 

 

 
Lot # 1763. Buffalo, NY; Cape May, NJ. U.S. Depression Scrip Proofs from NJ and NY. 1933. 2 different depression scrip notes proof mounted on archival production department work book page. 1). City of Buffalo face note with denomination counters and text values removed to represent a master proof. Also includes proofs of various text denominations used on the note for $5.$10 and $20. Also includes a back proof for this issue for a $20 note with large Buffalo in middle; 2). The County of Cape May, New Jersey un-denominated depression scrip note. POC. Sailing ship under full sail on left. Also includes border frame for this note without text or vignettes. Scarce Depression scrip notes. All by SBNC. Fine to XF condition. SBNC.

Lot # 1780. Williamsport, MD. U.S. W.D. Bryon & Sons, Inc. Depression Scrip Notes (2). 1934. 25 cents; $1 2 different specimen banknotes from same series. Red specimen overprints, POC's and "00000" serial numbers. Vignette of W.D.Byron with sons names below his portrait. 25 cents is brown and the $1 is blue. Unique in archive. Location is not mentioned on note, but plant was located in Williamsport, Maryland and was a tannery since 1897 and was closed in 2005. SBNC.

All are mounted on manila sample page from SBNC work book. 1,2). Baltimore Clearing House Certificate's. Title, border and text, no vignette or denomination for both. Printed in black; 3). Lehigh Navigation Coal Co. Scrip note with central part of note cut out. Red "Specimen" overprints; 4). Wilmington, Delaware Clearing House Association Certificate. $1. Specimen overprint. POC. Lower left corner has glue stains. Black. Washington vignette.; 5). Lehigh Navigation Coal Co. Scrip note with central part of note and title cut out. Red "Specimen" overprints.
