 Lot # 2317. Haiti Republique D'Haiti. 1884-1892. P-Unlisted; P-101. 1 Gourde Unique model or mockup by ABNC of a proposed issue very similar to P-101 but with the portrait of J.J.Dessalines at right instead of left and Haiti Arms on left instead of right. Pieces were cut from other notes to fabricate the face of this model and then pasted onto graph like paper on the front. The back has an entire note of P-77, in VG to VG+ condition if it were removed. It has been pasted face down on the back of the graph paper and then a small 2.6 by 2 inch white piece of paper has been added, covering the old legend text with hand written updated issue text for the 1892 issue instead. To make this model, it appears that the designers had to cut up an XF condition P-75 (CV$650 in Fine) to use on the borders and a P-77 for the vignetteand text. P-77 that is intact but pasted face down on the back of this model catalogs for $200 in good and $500 in fine. Historical essay model that evidently was altered to the final version of P-101. Vignette of Jean-Claude Duvalier. Unlisted as proof in Pick. Left 2 notes are Choice Unc., and the right 2 notes have light fold on the right margin where sheet was folded for storage. Rare proof. P-75; P-?. 1 Gourde Compound proof of 2 different back text legends from back of 1 Gourde, P-75, in scalloped oval frame in black. Printed on india paper. and mounted on small manila envelope. Unc. Text on the lower French legend is the same as the back of P-75 and is as follows: "Ceux Qui - Auront Contrefait - Ou Falsifie Les Billetes De Banque Autorises Par - Le Gouvernemant, Ainsi - Que Ceux Qui Auront Fait Usage De Ces Billetes Contrefaits Ou Falsifies Seront Punis Conformement A La Loi". The upper French legend is as follows: "Ce Billete Garanti Au Porteur Par La Banque Nationale D'Haiti, Et Conformement A La Loi, A Cours Legal Dans - Toute L'Entendue De La Republique, Et Sera Recu - Dans Toutes Les Transactions Publiques Ou Privees".
